The recently unveiled so-called Facebook phone, the INQ1, has just come out to play. It's £79.99 on pay-as-you-go but that includes a £10 top up (which you're gonna have to get anyway). So, in effect, the handset is really £69.99. And, if you go via Quidco, it's even cheaper. There's currently £11 cashback on 3 Mobile PAYG handsets. That brings it down to £58.99.

Not bad for such a feature laden phone. An ideal gift for someone who likes to give and receive pokes-a-plenty. Of course there's more to it than that...

I've got to say though that 3 Mobile's contract deals with the INQ1 are less than impressive in my eyes. It's not the cost that's the main issue with me, it's the 18 month contract. That's way too long and what with the current economical climate people don't want to be tied in like that for that length. Also other, more expensive phones are included in the same tariffs. Surely the INQ1 should be discounted slightly in light of that, no?

So, there you go. I recommend checking out the INQ1 on pay as you go, don't recommend it on contract. Sorry 3, you must try harder! Oh, and I have no idea if these are the prices with or without the new VAT level taken into account.
