I've just found out that UK retailer Argos is selling remote-controller replicas of the DeLorean car from the Back to the Future films. The best bit would appear to be that it is an actual time machine...
Like it says, it's a fully functional remote control car that is uniquely built for time travel! Anyone fancy buying one and seeing what happens? I would, but I don't see much use for a time machine that is too small for me to get inside.
Let me point out that I have no idea how good or bad this Blu-Ray player is and that there's a few things you need to bear in mind before heading out to get one...
Argos are currently selling the Bush BD01 Blu-Ray player for £99.99. Apparently, despite what their website says, that's really £97.86 (what with the new VAT rates). But that's still not £88, I hear you say - and you'd be right! However, Argos has extended their offer where you get £10 worth of gift vouchers for spending £100 or more. Yes, I know £97.86 isn't £100 or more but let's face it, there's bound to be something worth at least a few quid you were going to buy from Argos at some point anyway (like a HDMI cable for instance).
Of course the £10 voucher is only good if you want to buy yet more stuff from Argos, but again, chances are that you will. If not, give the vouchers as a Christmas present! Bob's your uncle, Blu-Ray player for £87.86!

Just a heads up to those in the UK and Ireland who might be tempted to buy a cheap wireless keyboard and mouse set from Argos. Don't! I guess most people would have the common sense not to in the first place - but not this blogger!
I bought a Mikomi one as it was both cheap and if it turned out crap I could return it to store (and not mess about with an online returns process).
Thing is, the keyboard is cheap and plasticky but it works. Okay some keys wobble almost comically but it works just as well as a wired keyboard. The only real problem with the keyboard, other than its obvious cheapness, is how bloody noisy key pressing is!
The problem is the mouse and how badly it responds. The mouse actually seems more expensive than the keyboard and when it works it works really well. The trouble was that it went crazy from time to time, barely responding one moment and working fine the next. There seemed to be no rhyme or reason - fresh batteries and moving the receiver didn't always make a difference. And the, finally this week, it stopped responding altogether.
It'll be going back tomorrow and I need a replacement. Whilst looking for a replacement I came across across something I fancied and decided to read the reviews. Funnily enough I stumbled across someone who was in the same boat. They had the crappy Mikomi keyboard too and had this to say about it:
"I got myself a wireless one from Argos made by some company called
Mikoni. What a mistake! It stopped working at random intervals even
after installing the drivers"
After reading the reviews, especially from this person, I've decided to go for the Trust DS-34000D. Despite being cheap, it appears to be of good quality.
