By simply topping up you can make unlimited Skype-to-Skype calls, Skype-to-Skype messages. It doesn't matter how much you top up, you only have to top up four times a year to use Skype (if you don't, you don't get to use Skype).
I highly recommend these despite the current issues I have with 3 UK, which says something. Want to know more about these issues? Of course you do...
In a nutshell, they are as follows: I can't access the internet half the time, can't send or receive MMS half the time, can't make (or, presumably) receive calls half the time and this is despite being in a good coverage area. 3's CS have known about this for nearly two months now and haven't rectified the problem. They haven't given me a time frame as to when the problem will be solved. They've offered me a less than generous £5 for my inconvienence and that was only after I spoken to numerous call centre folk for hours on end. FWIW I declined. I don't want credit on my account, I simply want a service that works again and, as a goodwill gesture, be allowed to change my tariff to one that's far more suitable than the one I'm on now (yet costs the same per month).
To think, just over a year ago I bought a couple of Eee PC 701s for £220. They're toys compared to Toshiba's NB100. And I'd rather deal with Toshiba's support folk than ASUS's any day!
But how good is the NB100 really? Well I've not used one (hint hint talkToshiba!) and it does get mixed reviews. I have used two other Toshiba laptops though and on the whole I like them. Saying that, there's a stuck pixel on the display of the one I'm typing on now and the little bit of flimsy plastic above the Compact Flash slot came off (it does also get used by a 5yr old, 10yr old, 11 yr old and a 13yr old so maybe that has something to do with it!)
Anyway, back to the NB100 - It's £227 at Dabs.com. I found it via HotUKdeals, here's the link...
Toshiba NB100 8.9" XP 120GB Only £257 less £30 cash back @ dabs = £227
Let me point out that I have no idea how good or bad this Blu-Ray player is and that there's a few things you need to bear in mind before heading out to get one...
Argos are currently selling the Bush BD01 Blu-Ray player for £99.99. Apparently, despite what their website says, that's really £97.86 (what with the new VAT rates). But that's still not £88, I hear you say - and you'd be right! However, Argos has extended their offer where you get £10 worth of gift vouchers for spending £100 or more. Yes, I know £97.86 isn't £100 or more but let's face it, there's bound to be something worth at least a few quid you were going to buy from Argos at some point anyway (like a HDMI cable for instance).
Of course the £10 voucher is only good if you want to buy yet more stuff from Argos, but again, chances are that you will. If not, give the vouchers as a Christmas present! Bob's your uncle, Blu-Ray player for £87.86!

Slightly misleading title as my trial 3 Mobile Broadband dongle hasn't gone back just yet. However, it will in the next day or two. Although I never got the thing working with my Eee PC (I used it with a Vista laptop instead) and, even though things weren't always 100% hunky dory, I still decided I needed to look into getting one for myself.
So, tomorrow I should be having delivered a Huawei E220. I'll be getting up to 5 gig a month for £6.91 and the dongle thrown in. Looking around, I think that's got to be the best mobile broadband deal in the UK at the moment. And using 5 gig on mobile broadband can actually be more difficult than you'd imagine (I know from experience!*)
Anyone interested in the deal should check HotUKDeals out. It's the site where I found this - oh, and by the way, you'll need Quidco. If you've got a Linux flavoured Eee PC (or perhaps another non-Windows subnotebook) you *have* to go for the E220. That's the only one that works out-of-the-box. The direct link to the offer is for a different Huawei dongle but thanks to some resourceful folk on the deal's comments page you'll be able to select the E220 without any problems.
