The latest version of Fring is just hot off the presses and, judging by the video the guys at the company have done, this could quite possibly be literally true. Check it out:
By the way the theme the guys are using on this S60 "handset" is one of my favourites and is available for free (somewhere) on S60.com
What is Fring and why is it worth blogging about? Well, go here to read up about it, and of course, check the video above! In a nutshell it brings together all sorts of wonderful things - like Skype, Yahoo!, Windows Live (MSN), AIM and a whole bunch more besides. Now that you can also listen to streams from Last.fm and soon be able to Tweet, it only gets better.
I've yet to install the latest version on my handset as I'm a bit busy today. So, in the meantime check out the company's own screenshots below:
Talking about being frank, I've got INQ Mobile's CEO Frank Meehan's speech already to upload to YouTube. He's quite a cool guy, I spoke a little to him at the end. Might see if I can grab him for a video later.
I've got plenty to blog about, bar pictures! I'll do more blogging later but I'm in the middle of a Maccy D's and it's already kinda cold. :o(
Just a quick note. Last.fm are on board with INQ. This was an unexpected, yet welcome, surprise. Unfortunately due to 'licencing issues' it can only scrobble the tunes you are playing, not stream them. I got my hopes up earlier! I'll see if I can get to the bottom of these issues later. Is this a problem with the recording industry or CBS? If it's the BPI, why? What makes a phone different to a PC?
