David Shepard: The man behind the scam?

Could this be the man behind the infamous "Katie" premium rate scam? Anyone know more about him or the companies connected with him? As well as Spread Media, there's Equinox Agency Ltd, Vaudaville.com and Photoidol

Voicemail to text message by way of SpinVox

SpinVox - Voicemail to SMS example

From my landline I left a voicemail message on my mobile, SpinVox converted it to text and it arrived a little later as an SMS text message. Despite background noise and a sore throat it got most of the message right.

So, it works and I like it - but I'm not sure I like how much it costs: SpinVox - Pricing I'd much rather they did a deal with the operators and bundle it in with contracts. Talking about costs... I wish I'd waited until I was in New York to start the free 7 day trial - that would've saved me a small fortune! ;-)

Trouble sending texts on NYE? Next year try MMS instead!

The phone networks always have a bit of a problem on New Year's Eve. People are all sending text messages at the exact same time and because of this many messages don't get through for quite a while.

There's two ways to get around this problem:

Just call the person you're texting!
Send a picture message (MMS) instead!

You could also try sending an email if your phone supports that but that's only of any use if you know the person you're sending the message to has push email on their phone.
