Woolworths, the historic store chain that is older than anyone I've ever known, is pretty much done and dusted. Very sad. Although it's been a shadow of its former self for some while now - my local branch used to be a vast department store but kept getting whittled away until it took up only a quarter of the same building. Incidentally, the same branch that Liz Hurley apparently hung outside of in her punk days (not that I remember bumping into her as a kid).
Anyway, I thought I'd check out their website and see if anything was being given away (sentimentality aside, it's Christmas and presents need to be bought for as little as possible) and I got this...
The UK's Woolworths currently have, as I type, the Wii in stock online. Not just that, they're a little cheaper than usual - £159.99. That's basically £160 + nearly £5 for delivery. However, if you use Quidco you can get 2% back. And, if you wish to pick it up in store instead, you can save on the delivery charge too.
As thye say, every little helps (no wait, that's Tesco!)
Woolworths, the store with the wacky Jackie (Chan) ads, has what looks like a good deal on a half decent-specced 3G Sony Ericsson. It's a penny under £70... delivered! Not bad considering there's a 3.2 MP camera, bluetooth stereo support and PictBridge. Specs also mention video streaming but video calling might be a different kettle of fish as there's no front facing camera!
